Mission Statement
We welcome you to take the next step in your gaming career with us by becoming a StarFleet officer! StarFleet is Star Trek style organization that spans many supported games, alongside even more casual games. Our chain of command and code of conduct keep our members safe and accountable. You’ll find a Discord server full of people who enjoy gaming, Star Trek, sci-fi, and a long list of other interests. Leaders who are ready and willing to help you become a better gamer. Friends who come alongside you when you need help IRL and your gaming goals. StarFleet members regularly train, encourage, and grow together in our games. StarFleet leadership ensures that an environment of stability, maturity, and professionalism is maintained whenever we game.
StarFleet was founded in 1998 and remains true to the principles that have brought it into the next generation. We strive for gaming excellence in our current roster of supported games. We follow a milisim-style chain of command in the spirit of The Federation. While we love Trek, we accept active gamers in our supported games regardless of their Trek knowledge. StarFleet is open to all gamers of any age and works hard to create a safe and friendly community for our members to thrive. At StarFleet, family comes first, and IRL comes first. We don’t expect our members to put in hours on end. Still, promotions are given to players to demonstrate activity in a game or Discord. And best of all, membership is Free!

A clan with a long history in gaming. Really enjoyed the respectful nature of the clan. Just people playing video games, living by the golden rule.

A nice structured environment, which I appreciate. Have been a member for years and haven't even thought about looking elsewhere.

KKBurnout,
StarFleet offers new members options on how they would like to be involved. The first option is role playing as an officer. This options allows a member to work their way up the ranks to becoming an officer after attending the StarFleet Academy. The second option is to role play as a Doctor (Civilian Rank), this option still allows to the member the full protections under the Code of Conduct as the other full members are granted. But they don't have the responsibilities like the members who role play the rank. And at any time if one chooses to change their mind about role playing as an officer or as a doctor and wants to switch, they will let their commanding officer know their interest in changing from being an Officer Rank to Doctor Rank.
I for one started as a Crewman Apprentice and shortly afterward decided role playing wasn't for me, so I requested to become a Doctor so I could still be a full member and involved. And then decided later on that I did like the role play after seeing it in action and now I am a Lieutenant aboard the USS Enterprise and Head Science Department Officer (Optional). I was asked if I like to become the Dept head of the Science Department and I accepted. I do have to write a monthly department report but these reports are short and if at any time I need help, I can ask for it.
As Star Trek enthusiast our members will do role play/cosplay (optional) of a story line that is set up for the members to act out on Discord. And I can attest that the role play/cosplay can turn out to be very interesting. My second role play/cosplay took me in a direction that I didn't expect. I was four characters at one time, but I had fun. But all of this is optional and if this is something the members are not interested just let their Commanding officer know. Also since we are Star Trek themed, our alliance has ships that members are assigned to such as the USS Enterprise, USS Venture, and the USS Valiant or Star Base 12. We also hold two 15-minute scrum meetings (optional) a day at 1:00 PM EST and 7:00 PM EST. This meetings discuss any support games updates, field reports, and any personal updates. StarFleet has one meeting a month that is mandatory (unless real life gets in the way, which is understandable). The meeting covers what we cover in scrum meetings, information about fleet updates, promotions, etc.
StarFleet uses Discord to communicate and uses various channels for the ships, officers, departments, etc. and members are given access to certain channels based on their positions or roles in StarFleet. And as members they can mute or set up notifications so they are not overwhelmed by the alerts. I've allowed the alerts/notifications for the channels I need to keep up to date on the information come thru and mute the other channels, but this is my responsibility to set up.
I love StarFleet and as a female gamer I feel safe here. Everything I take part in is by my choice and my choice alone and I am a bit hurt and frustrated by your comments that are not entirely accurate. Yes, members that chose to do the Officer Role play including StarFleet Academy have to do some paperwork (silly or not). But again that was your choice to be a part of the Officer role play. As to the role play/cosplay option, there was never an expectation of being paid in any way if we took part, so not sure why you said that in your comment. No one will shun another member because they chose to not take part in Officer role play or the cosplay. Overall, you made the choice to leave the alliance and I wish you luck in your new endeavors.

Overall, this is a great group of gamers and Star Trek enthusiast that care about the StarFleet Clan. StarFleet has been around 20 plus years and I believe will be around another 20 years because of how this group is managed well and keeping to a Code of Conduct that keeps the clan drama free. I personally have been in many clans but usually a short time due to the environment towards the members and women gamers. But I have found a home here where women gamers are welcomed and appreciated, so I don't see a reason to leave.

Thanks for the feedback, although not completely accurate and rather exaugurated. We have a few hundred members who each take part in making the proverbial wheel spin, if you please. We do understand that not everyone wants to contribute and we make no requirement of anyone's time. Further, you were left un-answered as we have little interest in he said she said drama. We have often found that those who incite that type of behavior don't have a place within StarFleet, as they seek to smear or twist the truth. Members come and members go but we look forward to another 25 years of existence where we'll see many more come and go. We're no stranger to the fact that you, and others may not like the internal operations of the Fleet but we maintain our safe and hazard free environment that has welcomed whole families in, to safely game and role play as much or as little as they want. We wish you luck in your next community and truly hope it meets your requirements for Internet community gaming.

Have enjoyed the family friendly model of membership and during game play. Been with the clan for 4 years, very glad to participate in games when I was a casual player to being a more competitive player.

A genuinely family-friendly clan; that’s the commitment made in Starfleet’s regulations that all members pledge to uphold, and the leadership ensures that this standard is followed. It’s a lot of fun being able to have my oldest in the clan with me, and be confident that this is a safe space for them.

I've been with this clan for a few months and would not go anywhere else. Very family friendly and inclusive of everyone. Very structured based on Star Trek cannon with roles and ranks allowing members to grow in both gaming and personal growth. Highly recommend anyone looking for a clan to check out StarFleet. There is a place for everyone here.

I usually say that about my workplace ( i work at PolishedConcrete1 https://polishedconcrete1.com is a company that specializes in polishing concrete and all related services). The people there are really great. They're experts in what they do. But you're right, the team is awesome.

Star Trek family and group are a great bunch of men and women who love a fun, family/kid friendly group. I've been here for over 2 or 3 months and I've felt so welcome here.

As a fellow gamer, I love the mission of StarFleet! It’s great to see a community that values professionalism and support. I also think incorporating casual games like Papa's Pizzeria could enhance the experience, offering a fun way to bond and unwind after intense gaming sessions. The blend of serious and casual gaming can help foster camaraderie. Looking forward to seeing how StarFleet continues to grow!
