About the Gaiscioch Social Gaming Community

Welcome traveler, I would like to welcome you to the humble home of the Gaiscíoch (Pronounced: Gosh-Kia) Family and Tuatha Social Gaming Community. Our family began as a social gaming community in the industry pioneering MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot. We began on the Nimue server on November 11th, 2001, with a focus on creating a fun and enjoyable community for players of all ages and skill levels.

The Gaiscíoch takes it's name from the Irish legends found within the "Cét-chath Maige Tuired""Lebor Gabála Érenn", and "Cath Maige Tuired" which chronicles the first people of Ireland the Tuatha de Danann. Specifically the First Battle of Moyturna where the Tuatha de Danann hand-picked the most honorable and loyal warriors to fight along side the Celtic gods in a battle against the Fir Bolg. These Warriors were known as the Gaiscíoch.

With our roots firmly attached in the Celtic Mythological Cycle, the Gaiscíoch hold honorrespectintegrity, and fellowship close to heart. Our events are open to the public and guild membership is never required.

Today the Gaiscioch Social Gaming Community actively publish our own digital gaming magazinedaily livestreams, and host an annual charity event.

We are a social casual gaming community with a relaxed approach toward gaming. We allow our members to play how they want, when they want, as long as they want, and do not constrict them with quotas or requirements. It is through gaming, athletic competition, and social interaction that we forge new friendships and relationships.

I joined Gaiscioch in 2007. I have been an elder for a few years now and just love this family.  We are family friendly and just have fun in a casual fashion. We get together in game and out in the social world. We are a very helpful community in game and out. There are meet ups around the states and you can always chat with us in discord.  The elders are in discord if you need to speak with someone and you can pm them to ask questions. With whatever game you play, there is usually someone that will help or come play with you. We are a global community so we have people on line usually around the clock where ever you live.

I'm in the guild since October 2012. Gaiscioch is not a guild for everyone, but for many people is home. Here is a good group to take a rest from the toxicity, from insults, from bad attitudes; this group is to make friends, be part of a Big Family, getting online and have a nice talk.

I'm an elder of this clan and have been a member since October 2009. I've seen a lot of great things happen over those years due to the type of community we are. We welcome all types because seeing smiles and people having fun is the best reward. You do not have to be in a Gaiscioch guild in a game to join us. We have associated guilds that we call Tuatha that join in as well as solo members who follow along in our events. The great thing is there are plenty of ways to rank up with the guild via the website and you can go at the pace you like. You can learn to lead if you want or just be a participant. It's a very flexible crew and we love teaching people how to play games. We livestream quite a few games and write about gaming and life in Gaiscioch Magazine.

The best part is we are not just a guild in a game, we are a family and go far beyond the games we play. We do charity events like ExtraLife and have done drives for stuffed animals for children in the hospital. Over the years we have achieved thousands of dollars of donations. And internally we are there for each other. Many great friendships have occurred and we have face to face meet ups in a few locations each year.

I've stuck around all these years due to the family oriented credos and the simple rule of, Blades out not in, that has kept the family a friendly place to hang out. Sure we are not perfect and may not be a fit for all, but come check us out if you need a home to see if we are the family you want to game with and beyond.
